Brothers in Psalms: A personal journey through Saint Patrick’s Colleges Town and Silverstream 1979-2009

John Jarvis came to St. Patrick’s College Wellington in 1979 and was part of a formidable Physical Education staff which guided St Pats to a very successful era of McEvedy Shield and Old Boys’ Cup events.

John came to teaching from a Boys Own background of army life in both the New Zealand and Canadian forces, which took him to North America and Europe. On leaving the services he trained in London and Tokyo and became the most qualified martial arts instructor in Australasia. A prolific reader, John became interested in the Catholic faith and later converted to it.

It is from this rich tapestry of life that John Jarvis has produced yet another fascinating book in Brothers in Psalms.
